Raising five children in Humboldt has allowed Carol and I the opportunity to be very involved in our community over the years. We know how much a community’s facilities and resources along with community organizations and special events make our Saskatchewan hometowns great places to live and raise a family. Taking on a leadership role in the community as a councillor and then Mayor also led me to realize the many challenges and opportunities that our villages, towns and cities are facing as they plan for the future.

Since leaving my role as a Mayor I’ve never been very far away from the municipal world. Through a variety of roles, I’ve maintained connections with Saskatchewan communities big and small, rural and urban. I continue to be impressed with the passion and dedication that municipal councils bring to their efforts to improve the quality of life in their communities.

I have enjoyed my continued involvement with Mayors, Reeves, Councillors and administrators. Municipal councils are looking for new and innovative ways to meet the challenges facing their communities. Collaboration, partnerships and shared resources continue to present exciting opportunities to meet those challenges. The SUMAInvest partnership is certainly one of those exciting opportunities.
