The motion from Council documents the intentions of your municipality to establish a SUMAInvest Account with the Saskatchewan Community Foundation. This motion is needed prior to establishing an account, and may take some time to pass depending on how often your council meets, and when your next scheduled meeting is. To be proactive in this stage of the SUMAInvest process, we have provided some sample text below that can be used for a motion.
[Name of Municipality] wishes to establish a SUMAInvest Account at the Saskatchewan Community Foundation to support the operations of [Name of Municipality]. We approve of and authorize [Name, Title] to finalize the terms of the agreement with the Saskatchewan Community Foundation.
Once we have the motion from your council to proceed with establishing a SUMAInvest account, we can being setting up your account. The SUMAInvest team will work with your administration to coordinate the logistics for setting up the account, depositing your reserves into the account, and what the process is for withdrawing your reserves.
Depositing your reserves into your account is easy and efficient. Your funds will remain under your ownership and will be accounted for on your financials. Retain control over your funds without sacrificing growth potential. You will be provided quarterly statements from the Saskatchewan Community Foundation and will have access to an online portal to view the full history of your account
